This is an original rod assembled by a Japanese Fly shop using Scott's blanks. The blank is marked G8823, but the length is exactly the same as a 9-foot two-piece rod, and the blank thickness is the same as my G903. It is a beautiful rod that has been carefully finished.
The grip is in shrink-wrapped.I will send it in an orvis rod case. Rod sock not included.
*The tip section is 54.5 inches long, which matches the length of the 9-foot rod's tip. I also actually cast it and compared it to the G903 and determined that it was the same as the G903. The lettering was not written by Scott, but by the store, possibly by mistake.
I have been fly fishing as a hobby for over 30 years. I have detailed my own inventory of gear that I and my fishing fellows no longer use and list it for sale. I am not a Japanese reseller with no inventory.
