From a friends collection who got moved into a nursing home last month.
This is the Radio Transmitter section from a Philco wireless remote control unit that was available on Philco models 39-55 & 39-116 radios in 1939. This includes the original battery and vacuum tube, the telephone dial assembly and top cover were not with it, so are not included. A great piece of history, maybe one of the first examples of a wireless remote control.
Included is the 1988 popular electronics article describing the unit which includes theory of operation and schematic.
