This beautiful and now quite rare 7CD box set - 4 of the 5 volumes are still sealed - from Philips (446 859-2, made in Germany, DDD mono / stereo) titled "Claudio Arrau: The Final Sessions" features the legendary pianist's last recordings, made between 1988 and 1991 at Neumarkt, Germany and La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, much of the repertoire new to his discography. Although the individual issues are not too difficult to find, the original box gathering all 5 volumes, is incredibly elusive. The outer box is of very sturdy construction. Here, 4 of the 5 volumes are still sealed - only the Beethoven set has been opened, but it is in MINT condition. This is probably among the rarest Arrau sets ever published, certainly on CD.

 

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

 

The condition throughout is near-MINT. The outer box has a few tiny dings, but really no different from what one might find with a store copy. Overall, it is in superb condition. Four of the five volumes are still sealed.
