description:

This is a very rare english keywind William Johnson pocket watch movement. This is an unique piece because several interesting solutions can be seen at the same time: diamond endstone, free sprung, helical hairspring, spring detent escapement, fusee chain, and has a quarter repeater complication also! It's a real collector's item! Very low serial number (814), the production date approx 1860-1870.
Earlier i saw only one similar on the British Museum website, this was a same ebauche and marked as Charles Frodsham. But it was a minute repeater!
Here is the link: https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/H_1958-1201-1599
This movement is in good condition, balance staff is good, if i shake the movement a little, the balance swings freely, the chonometer escapement steps in few seconds, then stops. The repeater mechanism are functional, but missing one sound rod! The last service date is unknown, and need cleaning and oiling! The movement diameter  is 40,3 mm, the dial diameter is 43,4 mm. The hands are original, and two piece maded from solid gold!
