Welcome to the sale of this superb antique theodolite.

This theodolite was made by A.G Thornton of Manchester and has a serial number of 1208 which would date it to the later part of the 19th century. It is made of solid brass and has had a wooden stand made to help display it . A beautifully made piece of surveyors equipment from a time when precision instruments had an aesthetic quality all of their own. It also comes with its protective wooden travel case.

In fair condition commensurate with its age and use, one of the levels is cracked and a small window cover is missing. As such this is sold as a display item and not for use. The theodolite measures (in cm) 34 tall, 22 wide and 15 deep.

The case measures 20 tall, 46 wide and 19 deep.  It weighs 12.5kg

 I offer free delivery on many of our items, however delivery shown is for the UK mainland only. There will be a surcharge for some addresses in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and the Highlands and islands of Scotland. You are more than welcome to collect or I can deliver locally if needed.
