1800's Purple Taffeta Boned Bodice, Net Lace, DOUCET, Paris Label
Boned silk taffeta bodice, see photo which is also closest to the actual color. Padded at front by the arm pit, lots of hook & eyes, wrap collar fastens at neck back. sleeves once had silk velvet and there is some still left over in the shoulder seams, cuffs, see photos. With original sewn-in gros grain belt DOUCET, PARIS. Embroidered Schiffli lace front and back, some damage (photo). Some scattered sm holes in lace, discoloration for age, see all photos. Fabric is still strong and could be wearable with a little TLC.
