Gorgeous and rare Gorham sterling silver Army-Navy sterling silver commemorative souvenir spoon.  Measures 5 3/4" length and weighs 31 grams.  Circa 1890-1910 period.  The bowl has a beautiful embossed motif of an army kit bag and assorted equipment and weaponry (rifle, sword, canteen, stirrups, brim hat, etc.)  Crest of handle has Army and Navy seals in jugate formation with national motto E Pluribus Unum and an American Eagle with enamelled Union Shield.  Edge/Border is a naval rope motif.  Rear of handle features an anchor, crossed swords and crossed cannons and the Gorham maker's mark at the stem.  This is likely an official issue.  Great condition with some scratches near the edge of the bowl and the enamel in the blue section of the shield is a bit worn.  With a strong numismatic appeal, this would be a good piece for Militaria, Exonumia, and Coin Collectors.
