Vintage Arabia Of Finland Triangular Dish From The Emilia Series
Raija Uosikkinen's Emilia series – An Overview
An old lady sits amongst the flowers in the garden drinking tea with her friends or lies resting in the hammock with button boots and a wide-brimmed hat. It is the dream of life in America in the early part of the 20th century that Raija Uosikkinen has captured in the Emilia series from the Arabia factory.

The inspiration for the motifs came from Raija's aunt, who had emigrated to the USA. In the eyes of a young girl, life there seemed like a dream. Where the sun shines, the flowers are abundant, and there is always time for a tea or coffee.

Emilia was made of porcelain with printed black decor on a white background & remained in production from 1959 to 1966. It consists of 18 objects including dishes, bowls, trays, platters, plates, cups, vases, boxes, and jars. The models were already part of the Arabia range, and many were designed by Kaj Franck, who was the factory's artistic leader at the time.

Dish Measures an approx. 6.25" Triangle
