A nice complete original patented closure ground lip Mason shoulder seal large half gallon fruit jar.
     Strongly embossed - MASON'S PATENT NOV. 30TH 1858  Stacked A 14 embossed on the base.
     A large 1 3/4" full detail embossed floral rosette design " Tudor Rose " embossed on the reverse.
     Correct original patented zinc cap with milk glass immerser liner. TRADEMARK THE MASON
     DISK PROTECTOR CAP PATD NOV 30 1880 stamped on top around the rosette in the center.
     PATD.NOV.23.75SEP.12.76.NOV.30.80.JULY.20.86 embossed around bottom of disk immerser.
     A moderately aged yet very clean and solid full zinc cover with no holes,cracks,splits or dents.
     Stamping on top is worn but mostly still somewhat visible. Has an attached horizontal wrench lug.
     The milk glass pickle pusher is bright and clean. Perfect condition without a nick to be found.
     The immerser is slightly loosened but still fully tightly intact with no fear of it coming out.
     The interior threading is very clean of any debris. The cover threads easily and full shouldering.
     The jar was blown in a clear colorless glass. Pure clear colorless with maybe a faint SCA tone.
     All of the pictures were taken in natural direct and indirect light with no enhancements. As pictured.
     Beautiful Old glass. Bright clean and clear with no staining from its use. Excellent clarity.
     Wavy and very seedy glass with small bits of debris. All fully intact. No pot stones or open bubbles.
     Displays strongly raised and indenting side mold seams adding to its early manufacturing character.
     A lightly used and very well kept jar in its time that shows in its excellent damage free condition.
     No cracks,chips,bruising or abrasions. A very few small fine scattered surface scratches and a rim of
     fine base wear from shelving. An arched dribble of glass near the right front mold seam next to the TH.
     It is on the interior. Not a scratch as it may appear in the pictures. Its ground lip and sealing area of the
     mouth is in near perfect condition. Just a few very thin small flakes on the inside edge of the lip which
     may very well be grinding related. Nice full lip. The sealing area is perfect without a nick to be found.
     A very nice example of this unique patented closure fruit jar in a less common large half gallon size.
     Maker uncertain. May have been the Bellaire Stamping Company , Bellaire,Ohio C. 1887 - 1888
     Missouri Glass Company , Saint Louis,,Missouri C. 1886 - 1888 or the Hazel Glass Company ,
     Washington,Pennsylvania C. 1888 - 1902.
