JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD GOLD MAKIE LACQUER CRAB BOX 19TH CENTURY

Period: Meiji period / 19th century.

Materials: Lacquered wood with silver handles.

Dimensions: 125mm wide x 125mm long x 52mm tall.

Condition: There is some wear and rubbing to the crab and other gilded areas. Some repaired damages and cracks around the edges of the cover. One of the handles looks like part of its backing is missing, but it is still fixed on well. Wear commensurate with age and use.
