Obverse: The front of the 50 francs Hercule 1974 includes an olive branch then the inscriptions LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE.
Half-naked bearded Hercules, standing frontally with leonte, on his left shoulder a paw of the lion, on his arm and around his waist the skin of a Nemean lion, behind his legs the tail and the paws of the lion, uniting the Liberty standing left turned to the right holding a pike topped with a Phrygian cap and dressed in a peplos. The 50 franc Hercules silver also represents Equality standing on the right facing left, holding the level, dressed in a chiton; with the Dupré exergue signed in cursive between two points, loose legend, beginning at the level of the Liberty drape.

Reverse: On the back of the 50 francs Hercules is inscribed: French Republic. 50 FRANCS written in two lines, all contained in a wreath composed on the left of a laurel branch and on the right of an oak branch. They are tied at their base with a ribbon. Below are two dots framing the year of the 50 franc Hercules.
