Learn How to Play Piano Keyboard
Little Kids Tutor Book CD Young Beginner

Book Description

A carefully graded lesson-by-lesson learning method for the younger student using very easy   arrangements of many favourite children's songs.

Introduces five notes on the treble staff, six notes on the bass staff and two full fingered chords.

Written by Peter Gelling and beautifully illustrated throughout with full colour by James Stewart.

Progressive Keyboard Method For Little Kids, consisting  of three instruction books and three supplementary song books, has been  designed to introduce the younger student to the basics of playing the keyboard and reading music.

To maximize the student's enjoyment, the books use  contemporary original material along with a repertoire of well known children's songs. All have been carefully graded into an easy-to-follow, lesson-  by-lesson format which assumes no prior knowledge of music.

Book 1 with CD and DVD contains very easy arrangements involving five  notes on the treble staff and five notes on the bass staff. The student also learns the concept of melody and accompaniment using the chords C and G7 with the left hand. The book includes an introduction to the 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures incorporating quarter, half and whole notes and their equivalent rests. Only the white keys are used.

The student is taught how to read music and is introduced to basic terms such as bar lines, repeat signs, melody and harmony. New  pieces of information are highlighted by color boxes and color illustrations are used throughout to stimulate and maintain the student's interest.

Supplementary Songbook A with CD has been designed to be used in  conjunction with Method Book 1. It contains more than 20 additional songs, which are cross-referenced to the lessons in Method Book 1.

Book 2 with CD contains easy arrangements involving nice notes on the treble staff and seven notes on the bass staff. The student also leans the concept of five finger positions and a new F chord to go along with C and G7 from Book 1. Eighth notes are introduced, making it possible to play a greater variety of songs. Original material has been used to add a contemporary sound to the material, particularly through the use of 12 Bar blues in various styles.

Rhythms such as the dotted quarter note are introduced along with the expressions legato and staccato. New pieces of information are highlighted by colour boxes and colour illustrations are used throughout to stimulate and maintain the student’s interest.

Supplementary Songbook B with CD has been designed to be used in conjunction with Method Book 2. It contains more than 20 additional songs, which are cross referenced to the lessons in Method Book 2.

Book 3 with CD contains many new notes, allowing the student to play the C major scale on both the treble and bass staves, along with an introduction to sharp and flats.

The student also learns new positions for chords learned in Book 1 and 2, along with the new chords G, D7 and C7. The book progresses from simple chords to broken chords, arpeggios and Alberti Bass.

Playing chords with the right hand is also introduced.

Supplementary Songbook C with CD has been designed to be used in  conjunction with Method Book 3. It contains more than 20 additional songs, which are cross referenced to the lessons in Method Book 3.
