Rich age worn patina (not polished) and is authentic to the piece. I estimate age from 1900 to 1930's. Solid brass and weighs approximately 45 pounds (including 2" thick wood stand base at bottom). Comes with two rounded wooden handles. Works fine and clangs loud when moved or shifted into position. Original dials in black and white. Nuts, handles, red brass markers all original. A beautiful maritime antique for your home or office. Measurements: from metal round base to top 33 1/2" high plus 4" tall wooden handles. Wood platform or stand is 14" x 14" x 1 1/2". Dial bezel 10" across. Brass base 10" wide. Has plexi-glass on dial. Dial says: "ASTEN (back), Full, Half, Slow, Dead Slow; AHEAD; Stand By; Stop; Finished With Engines".
