Overall good condition. Page block is excellent condition. Covers have moderate wear. Binding tight. Pages clean, no markings, tears, or creases. Front and back covers have moderate wear - mottled wear to the gloss / scuffing / few scratches & pressure indentations. Lower back cover has a rippled patch, looks like rippling of coating on the cover.

One of 3,000 first edition copies. Introduced by Kathy Acker. Photography by Robert Mapplethorpe. A collaboration between Robert Mapplethorpe and the Belgian artist /playwright / director, who is also known for his ballpoint pen drawings. Reproductions of some of these drawings alternate with Mapplethorpe's photos throughout the book.

The photographs were taken by Mapplethorpe during his stay in Antwerp in January 1985.  

The Power of Theatrical Madness is a live performance, multimedia work that involves performers, projections, recorded music, choreography, and staging in a surrealist, Dadaistic manner to create a very subjective experience.
