This coin was struck during the reign of the Emperor Constans II (a nickname for Constantine), 
who was also known as Constantine the Bearded, and was Byzantine emperor 
from 641-668. He became consul in 642, which made him the last Roman 
emperor to become consul. The ducat coin was used as a trade coin in 
Europe from the later Middle Ages from the 13th to 19th centuries. Holed 
Weight: 4.30 grams, Fineness: .986 Fine Gold, Diameter: 19.50 mm.
