The pure Tibetan Dzi bead is a type of stone bead of uncertain origin, with little understanding of the lost process of their making.
In several Asian cultures including Tibet, the Dzi beads are worn and passed down through the generations as a valued powerful amulet, and are worn daily, to provide positive spiritual benefit, healing, protection, vitality, wellbeing and wealth.
The most highly prized Dzi beads are those of ancient age, made of agate.
The meaning of the Tibetan word "Dzi" translates to "Shine, Brightness, Clearness and Splendor" in Mandarin Chinese, Dzi beads are called "Tian Zhu" meaning "Heavens Bead" or Heavens Pearl". The original source of ancient Dzi beads is still a mystery today. They used to be found buried in "Nests" (groupings or caches) throughout Asia in ancient sites, dating 700AD and earlier.

THE SIX EYE BEAD REPRESENTS LUCK, CONTROL, HEALTH AND LOVE OF LIFE AND IS KNOWN THROUGHOUT BUDDHISM AS THE “TALISMAN OF LUCK”
" DRAGON SKIN", REFERS TO THE CRACKLED TEXTURE OF THE BEADS.
THE TEXTURE IS CREATED DURING A CEREMONY BY MONKS,
BY BURNING THE BEADS IN FIRE AND THEN OFFERED TO THE BUDDHA, AS A THANKSGIVING,
ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS. THIS PRACTICE HAS NOT BEEN DONE FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS.

Some necklaces have been restrung for stability. We do not attempt to restore or do any cleaning or polishing, we have found that customers prefer to make these choices themselves.

In response to the numerous people who seem to have a private interest in these collections? The group of collectors prefer to be anonymous. They are not interested in offers or sales on the side (which is not legal on eBay) and it is not fair to the other bidders who often times wait till the last few seconds to bid.
They may or may not choose to use a 2nd Chance Offer when the winning bidder defaults for some reason, because it is within the auction format. They rarely re-list an item on eBay, all unsold items will return to one of the collections immediately. The minimum bid listed on any auction item is the lowest possible price that can be offered and in most cases is less than the initial purchase price.
