ELIZABETH AND HER GERMAN GARDEN ILLUSTRATED EDITION 1901 NICE PLATES.  Elizabeth von Arnim (1867-1941) was born in Australia and moved to England when she was 3 years old.  In 1891 she married a Prussian Aristocrat named Count Henning August von Arnim Schlarertin and later moved to his estate “Nassenhiede” in Pomerania.  This lovely book is the story of her time and her enjoyment of the gardens surrounding the estate.  I have seen other copies of this book but as noted this is the “illustrated edition” and includes 12 tissue-guarded and captioned full-page plates.  The author opens her book with the statement “I love my garden” and I think you will enjoy her endearing stories about the garden and life on the estate.  Please find: “Elizabeth and Her German Garden”.  This small hard cover book (5 ¾ x 8 ¼ inches 225 pages) was published by the Macmillan Company of New York dated 1901- a new edition. The book is bound in green boards with attractive decorative covers.  I include a photo of the List of Illustrations for your further information.  The top edge of the pages is gilt

Condition:  This book is in very good condition.  There is some dust-dulling to the boards which are still nevertheless quite attractive.  They are very slightly bumped and show some sunning to the spine but nothing extreme.  Inside the book is unmarked and there is no toning or foxing to the pages.  There are however some random marks of contact with a liquid on the upper and right-hand edges- none of which affecting the text.  There is a Brentano’s Bookseller’s label on the rear endpaper.  Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound.  This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

Shipping:  This book will be very carefully packed, with bubble wrap and with solid cardboard for their protection and promptly mailed upon payment.  Please note that I do not charge for packing and handling; all you pay is the postage.  Media mail postage for this small-sized hard cover book will be only $4.30.  Within the US for domestic mailings, combined shipping for multiple purchases is gladly offered.  You will pay full price for the shipping of the first book and half price for any other that same week.  For example, two books with shipping at $4 each will ship for $6 combined.

The eBay site has become so popular that it is difficult to find your way back to a seller with an interesting array of listings.  Please consider “book-marking” my site so you can see a constantly changing inventory of other truly vintage books and/or collectible works.

Please also be aware that all my current listings are “spring-summer season” listings held here in New York.  Once it starts getting cold here in Upstate New York, I will head back to Florida and switch out these listings for another catalogue of different books held there.

Please don’t hesitate to send any questions; I will monitor closely and respond promptly. Thanks, and enjoy.
