LOWELL THOMAS THRILLING MOMENTS IN THRILLING LIVES 1936 BOOKLET SUN OIL CO.  Attention Lowell Thomas collectors, here’s something a bit unusual but not too scarce.  It is a 36-page booklet giving brief synopses of some of Lowell Thomas’ books of adventure.  Please find a copy of: “Thrilling Moments in Thrilling Lives,” by Lowell Thomas.  This small booklet (5 ¼ x 7 ¾ inches, 36 pages) was published by the Sun Oil Company, a sort of follow-up to the Radio Show the Sunoco News Voice of the Air which must have featured stories by Thomas.  This particular copy is stamped on the front cover with the name and address of a Sunoco Gas Station in Malone, New York.  The book opens with a brief, two-page biography of Thomas and then presents the excerpts from ten of his books.  It is bound in blue covers with gilt titles and a title panel on the cover.  There is also a portrait of the Author as the frontispiece.  Each of the stories are illustrated with drawings or engravings by Henry C. Pitz.

Condition:  This book is in very good condition.  There has been some rubbing to the covers, a bit of bumping at the top of the spine and the corners and some darkening from handling along the spine.  The over-printing of the gas station name, I guess, embellishes its authenticity.  The front lower corner is bent.  The stapled binding is tight and sound and the staples are not rusted.  This booklet is not ex-library or a remainder.

Shipping:  This book will be very carefully packed, with bubble wrap and solid cardboard protection and promptly mailed upon payment.  Please note that I do not charge for packing and handling; all you pay is the postage and sometimes not all of that!  Postage to US addresses for this small-sized and thin soft cover booklet will be only $3.65 for media mail.  Combined shipping for multiple purchases is gladly offered.  You will pay full price for the shipping of the first book and half price for any others purchased that same week.  For example, two books with shipping at $4 each will ship for $6 combined.

The eBay site has become so popular that it is difficult to find your way back to a seller with an interesting array of listings.  Please consider “book-marking” my site so you can see a constantly changing inventory of other truly vintage books and/or collectible works.

Please also be aware that all my current listings are “spring & summer season” listings held here in New York State.  Once it starts getting cold again, perhaps in December, I will head south to winter quarters in Florida, ending these listings and reverting to another catalogue of different books held there.

Please don’t hesitate to send any questions; I will monitor closely and respond promptly.  Thanks, and enjoy.
