This is an auction for a copy of “Living Faith” written by former President Jimmy Carter and published by Random House of New York in 1996. A spiritual autobiography covering Carter’s public life as governor and President and his family and private life as a farmer in central Georgia. Kirkus Reviews cited it as “…an unforgettable spiritual autobiography filled with wisdom and pleas for justice.”  This copy is signed by Jimmy Carter in black ink on the free front end page in his usual manner “JCarter.” First edition, first printing copy stated on title page [Random House books state “first edition” and start the number line at 2. In second printings they drop the statement “first edition”].  A very good green hardback in a fine dustjacket with original price of $23.00 on front flap. There is some light foxing [browning] to the edge of the text block.  Book measures 6 by 8.5 inches, 257 pages.  A very tight sound copy, appears to be an unread and comes from a smoke free environment.  This book is NOT a book club or ex library copy. James [Jimmy] Earl Carter Jr. (born October 1, 1924) is an American politician and philanthropist who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a Georgia State Senator from 1963 to 1967 and as the 76th Governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975. Since leaving the presidency, Carter has remained active in the private sector; in 2002, he was awarded the Noble Peace Prize for his work in co-founding the Carter Center.
