Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in '83 consisting of singer Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, guitarist Phil X & bassist Hugh McDonald. Original bassist Alec John Such left in ‘94 & guitarist/co-songwriter Richie Sambora in 2013. In ‘84 & ‘85 Bon Jovi released their 1st 2 albums & the debut single Runaway cracked the USA Top 40. In ‘86 they found global success with album Slippery When Wet, which had 3 Top 10 singles, 2 reaching #1 (You Give Love a Bad Name & Livin' on a Prayer). 4th album New Jersey ('88) had 5 Top 10 singles (a record for a hard rock album), 2 hitting #1 (Bad Medicine & I'll Be There for You). After touring & recording extensively during the late ‘80s, Jon & Richie released successful solo albums in ‘90 & ‘91 respectively. In ‘92 the band returned with the 2x platinum Keep the Faith followed by their biggest-selling & longest-charting single Always ('94) & album These Days ('95) (producing 4 Top 10 singles in the UK). After a 2nd hiatus, 2000 album Crush with lead single It's My Life, successfully introduced the band to a younger audience. They followed up with Bounce in 2002. The platinum albums Have a Nice Day (2005) & Lost Highway (2007) saw them incorporate elements of country music into some songs, including 2006 single Who Says You Can't Go Home, which won a Grammy Award & became the 1st single by a rock band to reach #1 on the USA Country Charts. The Circle (2009) marked a return to their rock sound. They also enjoyed success touring, with both the 2005-2006 Have a Nice Day Tour & 2007-2008 Lost Highway Tour ranking in the Top 20 highest-grossing tours of the 2000s & the 2013 Because We Can Tour ranking among the highest-grossing of the 2010s. The band continues to tour & record, with their most recent albums This House Is Not for Sale (2016) & 2020 (2020). Bon Jovi was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006 & into the USA Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. Bon Jovi have sold over 100 million records, making them 1 of the best-selling rock bands in history!
