A red over red convertible with a 400 motor, this car is part of the ideal American dream! It was born and raised in California, very solid metal. We acquired it from the previous owner of 10 years who didn't want to get rid of it, he said it was like losing one of his children. He purchased it from the longtime owner that completed the ground up restoration and tried to use as many factory correct parts as possible. She is absolutely beautiful and ready to hit the streets! EXTERIOR: This Solar red paint looks totally awesome out in the sun! The extra bright red has been wet sanded and polished to a highly reflective finish. Excellent body is arrow straight and panels fit right. It has a scooped hood and rear spoiler. The front and rear bumpers have been refinished and have a great shine to them. The white convertible top which has been replaced and looks great provides a nice contrast to the bright red. The raised white lettering on the BF Goodrich radial TA tires are mounted on Rally II rims that also have the correct reproduction lug nuts.

INTERIOR: I've always been a fan of red interiors and this car is no exception! This one looks stunning against the cherry red exterior. The sun visors have been reupholstered; rear view mirror appears original. The front bucket seats and rear bench seat have both been reupholstered. The front and rear both have seat belts. The door panels have been recovered but the window cranks, door handles, door pulls, and logos appear to be originals and in great condition. The kick panels have been repainted. The dash pad has been replaced, the remainder of the dashboard appears to be original and in fantastic condition. An aftermarket SunPro mini tach digital oil and temp gauges has been added. The burled wood grain center console with automatic shifter also appears original but in remarkable condition. The carpeting was replaced some time ago but still shows well. It has reproduction Pontiac rubber floor mats. Overall, it looks and fits nicely, unabused.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a clean and fresh looking 400 V8. A throttle body fuel injection system has been added for additional reliability. Other than that, it looks stock: manifolds, chrome air cleaner and valve covers, brackets, pulleys etc. It features power steering and brakes. The wiper motor has been replaced and the squirters are hooked up. The radiator and fan shroud have also been replaced. All the hoses and wires have been replaced and routed appropriately. Under the hood, the fender wells, and the firewall have all neatly been painted satin black. Very clean, tidy, and proper.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the lid is painted shiny and matches the body. A reproduction sticker and weatherstrip were replaced. It has been spatter painted with a factory style finish and looks great. A correct mat, space saver spare tire and jack assembly are included.

UNDERSIDE: This car has received a quality ground up restoration and has been maintained as needed since then. All the steering components appear in great condition and currently work wonderfully. The hardware even looks fresh and clean. The front suspension also looks like it was redone during restoration. The coil over shocks were replaced as well as the ball joints. The front has a sway bar and even the bushings and links look fresh. The rear suspension looks very similar to the front with many new or refurbished parts installed during the restoration. The front has disc brakes and lines have been replaced. The rear drum brakes have been neatly painted black. The emergency brake is hooked up. The full dual exhaust system was replaced during restoration and routed the way the factory did it, even the transverse style muffler. The tailpipes exit just behind the rear wheels. The gas tank has neatly been painted black. The fuel lines have been replaced. Looking up at the motor everything appears to be neat and fresh looking. It has been painted Pontiac blue and looks great. There are no leaks visible. Same goes for the Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Everything looks in order and fresh with no leaks visible as well. The transmission mount has been replaced. The 10 bolt limited slip rear end is in great shape and has been nicely painted black. All the floors look super clean, smooth, and solid. They have been neatly painted satin black.

SERVICE: Our team of professional mechanics has completed a thorough inspection on this vehicle and repaired or replaced the following items: replaced the brake light sockets and bulbs, replaced the steering gearbox, and replaced the oil sending unit.

Most people say they don't want perfect because they want to drive and enjoy the car. But then again, most get bothered by it not being perfect. Well, this is the perfect compromise, it's truly a clean car that looks and feels amazing. You can enjoy that wind in your hair, sun shining down on you and still be proud of it. Sure to get thumbs up and waves wherever you drive it!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.

About Volo Auto Museum

No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.

Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.

Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn’t have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else’s.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately $1500 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn’t sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
