Parker 51 pen/pencil set in rare 'Yellowstone' or Mustard with gold filled caps, double jewels, and 14k trim.
The clips, as well as the pen's bottom tassie and the pencil's bottom cone, are solid 14k, and are a slightly greener gold than the gold fill of the caps, which makes for a beautiful effect.
Date code in pen '5' with three dots, indicating production in the first quarter of 1945.
Excellent clear lines in cap's design. Clear barrel imprint in pen. The pen's clutch ring still has its gold color in the center, which shows that it has had little wear, since this thin gold wash wears off pretty quickly.
Engraved name 'Fred C. Leno' in barrels.
Pen has a fine point.
Pencil has correct gold wash mechanism found in up-market 51 models. Eraser shows some use.
Cap cartouches have not been engraved.
No dings in the caps.
The pen's vac filler has not been restored and it will need to be restored in order to fill.
A beautiful and impressive set.
