Knitting pattern/instructions to make 1930s/40s sweater in leaf design and with open work neckline.

Measurements: 31" bust when knitted in 3 ply.  You could make it larger, using 4 ply or DK yarn, adjusting needle size. You would need to knit a tension square in your chosen yarn to ensure the finished garment is the size you want.

Modern 4 ply yarn is similar in weight to the 3 ply of the time the pattern was written.  The original yarn was 100% wool.

Materials required:
  • Approx 7 ounces 3ply/4ply.  Amounts are for guidance and will differ with make and wool content.
  • Pair each No. 9 (3.75 mm) & No. 13 (2.25 mm)

Due to the age of the pattern, the original yarn suggested may not be available.  It is recommended to crochet/knit a tension square with your chosen yarn, before starting, to ensure the finished garment or item is the size you require.
