IBAŇEZ G., Genaro

Nació en La Paz en 1903 y murió en 1983. Estudió en Buenos Aires y en la Academia de San Fernando de Madrid, así como en la Escuela de Artes Gráficas de esa ciudad. Alumno de Manuel Castro Gil. Expuso en La Paz, Madrid, Tánger, Santiago de Chile, París y Buenos Aires entre 1926 y 1971. Fue profesor de grabado de la Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de La Paz y Director Nacional de Bellas Artes. En 1981 se realizó una exposición de su obra en La Paz. Obtuvo varios premios, entre los que figuran: el Primer Premio en Grabado de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Madrid, y el Primero Premio en Grabado de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Madrid, y el Primer Premio del Salón Pedro Domingo Murillo 1958 a 1960. Utilizó las técnicas del grabado, xilografía, acuarela y óleo sobre lienzo.

He was born in La Paz in 1903. He died in 1983. He studied in Buenos Aires and at the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid, as well as at the School of Graphic Arts in that city. Student of Manuel Castro Gil. He exhibited in La Paz, Madrid, Tangier, Santiago de Chile, Paris and Buenos Aires between 1926 and 1971. He was a professor of engraving at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de La Paz and National Director of Fine Arts. In 1981 a exhibition of his work was held in La Paz. He won several prizes, among which are: the First Prize in Engraving of the School of Fine Arts of Madrid, and the First Prize in Engraving of the School of Fine Arts of Madrid, and the First Prize of the Pedro Domingo Murillo Salon from 1958 to 1960. He used the techniques of engraving, woodcut, watercolor and oil on canvas.
