Tranter was a highly acclaimed researcher and educator in the communications field, was the co-author of several widely used undergraduate and graduate textbooks on communications, and a professor of Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech. He sadly passed away in 2019, with many books from his personal collection given to charity. This is a special find!
