Rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal. It depicts a dog fight between a cart dog (attached to a wagon) and a hunting dog.
The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area fills about half of the page and measures about 9 x 7 inches, with a French caption below. The text on the page could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age, except for light fox mark stain in the bottom white margin area below the caption. There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
