Fantastic and very rare "starlight" example of the George Cram company's mid-century illuminated globe line. Most of these came with the standard blue oceans, and I've seen a few where the background color is yellow, to evoke older globes. This is actually the only example I've seen in black, and it gives it a strikingly Space Age vibe, even with the light off.

Great for a child's bedroom as a night light, as long as you're prepared to answer questions like "what is Rhodesia, mommy?"
Also a prime candidate for movie, television, or even theatrical props departments.

Base is metal, not plastic. Plug, chord, bulb, and chain all work perfectly. Pictures 1-17 show the globe with light turned off. In #18, the light is on along with other lights in the room, and only the globe light is on in 19 through 23.

I am not an expert (other than for books and analog photography, perhaps) so please view all pictures closely. I always speak to and try to show any flaws that I notice. If you have any questions, or if you'd like to see something closer, message me and I'll be glad to respond.
