This is an outstanding pair of matching cast metal statues, or
bookends, each measuring approximately 7” in height, 9 ½” in length and 4” in
width. I am uncertain as to the type of
metal these figurines are made of but they are cast and have a bronze look and
each weighs a little over 2 lbs. Both
statues appear to display a gazelle being chased by a pack of four wolves. The bases are covered with felt and although
they are unmarked by the foundry, there is an embossed, “524 Pat. Pend.”
engraved along the side of each statue.
Both of these statues are in very good condition with the exception of
age-related wear, some metal discoloration and a small crack in the casting
(shown in last photo). Despite these few
imperfections this is an impressive pair of vintage statues/bookends.
