Ocean Kayak, the world’s largest manufacturer of sit on top kayaks, has made a great fishing kayak even better.

The Prowler Elite 4.1 is an upgraded version of the best selling Prowler 13 Angler and this ever popular craft now comes with two additional forward facing rod holders and rigid side handles. This makes it even more user friendly both on and off the water. With a total of four flush-mounted rod holders, kayak fishermen now have added options for setting up tackle both when paddling and at anchor. The rigid side handles make the kayak easier to carry and give better grip for example when putting it on a roof rack.

Other features include a moulded in seat well and this, coupled with an Ocean Kayak seat, ensures comfort when paddling and when sitting back to relax and enjoy the fishing. The large bow hatch and generously sized rear tank well with bungee give plenty of room for stowage and there is a 6” Cam Lock hatch with bucket forward of the seat.

For installation of a Hummingbird fish finder there is a dedicated mounting area on deck and there is a transducer compatible scupper. Moulded in foot wells, a moulded in cup holder and additional carry handles all come as standard and there’s the option of having a rudder system.

The Prowler Elite 4.1 has excellent handling characteristics which you would expect from the Ocean Kayak Angler range. The tri-form hull gives great stability, it tracks well and gives the manoeuvrability and responsiveness paddlers can rely on to cope with a variety of conditions.
