A block of four stamps Fi 357-MK, (positions 13, 14, 23, 24), coloured red, overprints on Fi 342 cylinder III, (positions 63, 64 & 73, 74).
[Fi 342 (Polish Eagle) was issued in 13/09/1944. Known as the ‘Goznak’ issue, the first supply was sent from Moscow to Lublin, Poland, which had been liberated by Soviet forces on 24th July 1944 and which became the temporary headquarters of the Soviet-controlled Communist Polish Committee of National Liberation established by Joseph Stalin]
Errors:
i. Significant upward and sideway shift of the overprints with a marked skewing upward from left to right.
ii. Abklatsch - a mirror image of the overprint shows on the reverse side,
iii. Top left-hand stamp (pos. 13/63)
a) red spot above letter C in 'POCZTA',
b) error B12 - the left-hand edge of overprint letter P in 'Zakopane' - the letter being in the left-hand blank margin - damaged,
iv. Top right-hand stamp (pos. 14/64): - damage to second overprint letter A in 'Zakopane' - 'Zakopane' being printed across both stamps,
v. Bottom left-hand stamp (pos. 23/73): - letter P in 'Zakopane' split at the top - the letter P being printed across the figure 2 in the top left-hand corner,
vi. Bottom right-hand stamp (pos. 24/74):
a) overprint figure 4 in '1945' split at the top of the slope,
b) error B3 - figure 1 in '1945' missing its 'nose'.
