Description: A polished butt end of brecciated banded iron formation from the 3.02 billion year old (Archean) Cleaverville Formation, part of the Gorge Creek Group in the De Grey Supergroup of Western Australia. It has been cut with a diamond saw and polished to a mirror finish. A beautiful souvenir from deep time, and an essential specimen in any geology collection!
