A truly magnificent silver plated cruet set dating to 1878.Lozenge registration Marks dates the set to April 1878 and it was made in Birmingham by Thomas Hands and Son.It features a bird house with two movable birds perched above and below the bird box.It also features two lovely beehives complete with bee finials one for mustard complete with the original spoon and a pepper pot.Situated in the middle of these is a cold frame with original bevelled glass detailing, this I presume was for the salt.Bearing in mind this cruet set is almost 150 years old it is in fantastic condition with barely any silver plate loss. The four feet have been made to look like tree branches and this theme is continued around the edges of the base and also the round holders of the beehives. The pepper pot lid is tight and I’ve not attempted to open this.A very rare Collectable example!Any questions please ask.
