FRENCH ENAMEL & BRASS "HARLEQUIN & COLUMBINE" VESTA CASE PARIS c1900
Period: c1900.
Materials: Brass & Enamel
Dimensions: 48mm long x 35mm wide x 14mm deep.
Makers marks: Unmarked.
Condition: The front panel has a chip to the bottom left corner, the interior panel also has a chip to the bottom right. Minor chips and nicks around the sides. Some minor surface scratching. The far left side of the hinge is no longer attached to the bottom section, but this does not affect the opening and closing of the case. Wear commensurate with age and use.
Notes: An interesting French enamel vesta case. The front depicting Harlequin and Columbine. The back depicting Columbine with a drink and the word "Exquis" which translates to "Delicious". The sides read "66 Chaussee D'antin cie gle des allumettes chimiques Paris"
