Due to needing to reduce my private classic car collection up for sale is my 1979 Classic Mini 1000. It benefits from having an MOT until 22nd November 2024 (it passed first time with no advisories) although it is registered as MOT and Tax Exempt.
It’s a lovely little car, lots of work done.
Good temperature and oil pressure when hot. The engine is a 1275 engine and it has an upgraded exhaust system.
The following is a list of new items:
Bodywork:
New panels: sills, front wings, drivers side floor, driver's side door skin. Smaller repair on boot floor.
All panels were treated with anti-rust before primer and top coat.
Underside fully sealed with 3m underseal.
Mechanical:
Cv joints inner replaced, outer Cvs cleaned and re-greased. New boots fitted where needed.
New wheel bearings.
New steering gaters.
New lower engine steady.
Both suspension tie bars replaced.
New plugs.
New sports coil.
New hoses, thermostat, water pump.
Carb refurbished.
New fuel pipe and hoses. Oil filter.
Brakes:
New brake pipes, cylinders, shoes, backplates, springs.
New rear shocks.
Others:
All window and door rubbers have been replaced.
Door hinges (refurbished) and check bars replaced.
New washer jets, washer motor and wiper arms and wipers.
New Wiper gear boxes
New wiper return switch.
New boot lock and petrol tank cap.
New heater and choke cables.
New heater valve
Interior:
New carpet set
Front seats recovered.
Headlining cleaned and re tensioned.
New door card all round.
New rear parcel shelf.
Electrics:
New front headlights complete, housings, inner rings wiring, rubbers, adjusters, plugs and lamps.
New front indicators complete.
New indicator and hazard relays.
All connectors cleaned or replaced.
New battery terminals.
This car, in my opinion, is a lovely little mini lots of work has been done and it starts, drives and stops very well. Whilst it’s not perfect it is a lovely little car. I’ve very much enjoyed taking it to the local classic car events. It’s new owner will be very happy I’m sure.
