This kit is a set of 9, enough for one motor. They have black oxide coating for corrosion protection during storage.

TYC had some original Russian seal rings analyzed to determine their material and hardness. These Repro Exhaust Seal rings are accurate reproductions, both dimensionally and metallurgically of the Russian original part.

Living next to the exhaust port, these ‘donuts’ (as some people call them), spend their working lives close to white heat.

That causes their original mechanical properties to degrade over time accompanied by small amounts of shrinkage.

For this reason, every 25 -30 hours ( at Oil change for example ) it’s good to check each exhaust section’s knurled nut for the correct torque and re-tighten the safety wire if needed.

These Exhaust Seal rings are a consumable - like filters or crush washers, for example.

Then one day, when there’s a lot more tightening required, (compared to last time), that cylinder’s donut may be finished.

One way to tell if a ‘donut’ has reached the end of its life is to compare the sounds of an old and a new one hitting a hard floor.

The new one, with its original metallurgy will make a clear ringing sound. A spent one will sound dull by comparison.
