This is an 1848 Seated liberty dime from the Philadelphia mint. Most of the 1840s Philadelphia mint seated dimes are scarce, especially in problem free, certified condition. This had a low mintage of 451,500 dimes, and only 204 total have been graded problem-free by both NGC and PCGS in all conditions combined. Most of these were melted when the silver in dimes was reduced in 1853, or they have been worn into nothingness.

Admittedly, this dime is circulated, and warrants its F 15 from PCGS, arguably the top coin grader. The wear is honest, and proof that it served as a major unit of commerce in the eastern United States during the middle of the 19th century.  It has no problems--it has not been cleaned, holed, or scratched. There are, however, a few dark spots on the reverse, but PCGS did not think they were a problem.  If you are looking for an inexpensive way to fill a hole in your collection, this is a very nice coin. (I'm selling mine because I had a chance to upgrade).

I apologize that the photos are not better.  I'm a collector, not a dealer, so I don't have a professional camera (I had to use my phone).  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Returns are accepted but you will have to pay the shipping.  However, I have been on ebay since 1999, and have never had someone send anything back. I try my hardest to be honest because I don't want the hassle of returns and I'm sure you don't either.

Shipping in the US is always free and quick.
