Locomotive and remote have two channel settings. Each takes 2 AA batteries (not included). Pay close attention to the direction of the batteries (+ and -) when putting them into the locomotive. Locomotive has buttons on the top for control without the remote.

Motor and magnetic coupling system are both working. Very good condition.
