The Marryat 8.0 is a high-end Japanese-made reel that was first introduced to the market about 25 years ago. At the time, many domestic reels imitated the design of foreign reels, but Marryat reels(Smith co.) developed a unique disc brake that works only in one direction.
The drag works well from a light range and can be adjusted over a wide range, making it a practical brake system.

It has been used slightly and has a dent near the handle portion of the rim. No practical problem. The internal mechanism is clean and in good working order.
