The provenance of this item may be important. My father who was born in 1922 joined the service before WW2, was honorably discharged from the AAC in 1945. When he left home to join this was brought with him from his home on the lower east side of Manhattan. When he was discharged he brought it back with him in a trunk where it remained. He passed in 1977, it was discovered a few years ago.
