A 19th Century Chinese Export Blue and White Porcelain Jar circa 1860, 19.5cm.

A charming example of a Chinese 19th century, circa 1860 blue and white porcelain ginger jar.

An expertly painted Chinese ginger jar with repair to body, despite the repair which is clearly visible in the photos, this remains a superbly decorated example of mid to late 19th century Chinese export. Often these are poorly painted in an attempt to mass produce, this being finely painted with excellent colour and brush application, featuring traditional motifs and symbols of fine detail, pagoda temples, water and mountains subjects, a delightful decorative piece.

A well proportioned porcelain ginger jar measuring 19.5cm and 19cm diameter.

The area of repaired damage is mostly a clean through single break, see images. Prices sensibly to reflect.

A nice example antique blue and white ginger jar of considerable decorative appeal, an interior design piece that can enhance a classic or contemporary space.
