The German U-boat Badge was instituted during the First World War on February 1, 1918. It recognized submarine crews who had completed two or more war patrols. It was worn on the lower left side of the uniform and was oval shaped resembling a wreath of laurel leaves. A submarine lay across the center and the German State Crown was inlaid at the top center of the wreath.  This badge bears the name of its manufacturer “Walter Schot fec” on the back.  This badge is likely a reproduction and is exactly as shown in the photos, it would make an excellent addition to your collection.
