Here is the result of a month of hard work, as well as my trial and error.
Anyone who bought or saw the Monorim front suspension for any scooters also saw its quality and assembly of manufacturing materials. Assembling and using it straight out of the box, especially with a spring shock absorber, is a tough test on every spine. There, either everything hangs out in gaps of 0.04″ (1 mm) or, on the contrary, everything is clamped and does not move.
But the idea of such a suspension is very wonderful and old.
Despite its small size, it has a large stroke and softness!
So I decided to make myself such a custom suspension using the main one as a donor, after that I made another one for my friend, and there were spare parts for another one.
What changes?
1 - all new longitudinal axes are made of tool steel with a bearing fit tolerance of 0.0019" (0.05mm).
2- all 16 bearings were replaced with high-quality KYK Japan ones.
3- Intermediate washers were made between the bearings so that they rest against each other only with the inner race.
4- Completely reassembled EXA 165mm RR1 dual air shock absorber, boot installed, filled with silicone oil and both chambers inflated for a rider weighing 160 to 210 pounds (70-95kg), can easily be changed to suit your weight.
5 - new shock absorber bushings were made from polyurethane and polyurethane resin.
Everything was made in a factory in a single copy and hand-made to the required size.
You will also have all the replaced parts so that you have something to compare with.(on top under tape)
After this replacement, your front suspension will be as it should be and ready for any challenge.
I've been using my suspension for two years now and there are no problems.
