This is a genuinely rare find - a well-preserved Wahl Eversharp half Coronet mechanical pencil with two original marketing / sales stickers attached.  The pencil has immaculate black enamel inlays to the crown and cap, an unused original eraser (set in a brass bushing), and contains a large amount of original leads.  The cap is gold filled, and the barrel is black celluloid.

This Coronet and half Coronet range dates from between 1937 - 1941 -  the Coronet line was the first pencil produced by Eversharp using the repeater mechanism that was later used on the Doric, Skyline, Fifth Avenue, and Symphony lines.  

This pencil is in superb condition - it has clearly been barely used, and whilst it has some age-related handling wear, everything about it is clean, bright and working.  There is absolutely no damage, cracks, dents etc to any part of the pencil.  There are a couple of indents towards the lead cone which are visible under magnification (see photos) and perhaps were production imperfections - they have been polished (not by me - they appear to be as old as the pencil).  

The top removes smoothly to access the lead storage and the unused eraser.  The top is inset with a celluloid square, which helps give great purchase when pressing the lead Repeater mechanism - which in turn is working perfectly.

The stickers read:  "EVERSHARP MADE IN U.S.A." and "PTD. IN U.S.A. 10600".  I have searched that as a patent number but have hit a dead end.  The barrel is stamped "GENUINE EVERSHARP MADE IN  U.S.A.", and the top of the cap is stamped "EVERSHARP".

The entire pencil has such a weighty and quality feel about it.  Whilst Eversharp Repeater pencils became relatively common and less fancy, these original Coronets are simply a cut above.  The decoration, clip design and finial inset are all quality aspects, and they were short lived.

Supplied with a rare art-deco container of Eversharp red-top leads (the leads themselves actually have red tops!) and two packs of original replacement erasers for Repeater pencils.  Note that all the erasers (including the one in the pencil) are hardened with age.

Also comes with non-original instructions for an Eversharp Repeater pencil so that you know how to handle this remarkable design, and the pencil will be in a protective velvet pouch.
