This is a stunner - a rare, full size, gold filled "Ring Colonial" design Wahl Eversharp propelling pencil in its original box, with a tube of unopened vintage Eversharp leads, an unused eraser and fully working condition.  Dating from around 1928 (see catalogue images from that year).

This pencil features in the 1928 Wahl catalogue as pencil code X71, described as "long, standard diameter barrel with clip, uses .046 lead".  The Colonial and Colonnade (also on the same page) are two of the most sought after and relatively short-lived designs that Wahl produced, and to have it boxed is yet rarer.

Condition is very good - the milleraies engraved stripes (which is the "Colonial" design) are in good order and help provide a lovely grip when holding the pencil.  The 6 sets of triple black rings are clearly marked - these are the hallmark of the "ring colonial" design.  They all contain the original black enamel paint, though some are more worn than others.  The clip is rigid and firmly fixed with no movement.  The top pulls off to reveal an unused (hardened) original eraser, and the lead storage contains leads.  The lead propel mechanism is working perfectly and the pencil contains lead.   There are a couple of shadow indents to the barrel - I have tried to show them in the photos and video.  There is some slight brassing to the lead cone.  The pencil carries some age-related wear throughout, but is overall in very fine condition for c. 95 years of age.

The box is in good condition - some wear and marks, but it is a leather-covered box and has endured well.  The interior is perfectly clean, is velvet and silk lined and has clear gold printing to the lid interior of "A Wahl Product" and "EVERSHARP √√ WAHL PEN".  The lid exterior is stamped "WAHL CHICAGO U.S.A.".

The vintage glass case of Eversharp leads is sealed and unopened (labelled EVERSHARP and described as "PACKED IN ENGLAND MADE IN U.S.A.") and is a tube of B (soft) leads which will write like velvet when used.

I have provided a set of non-original contemporaneous instructions.  I have also printed off the pages relevant to this pencil from the  1928 Wahl catalogue and will include all these papers.
