HUM 539 - "Good News" - 125th Anniversary - TMK-7 - 4.625" Tall
This hummel was originally modeled by master sculptor Helmut Fischer in 1988 and has an incised "1988" copyright date. It was first released in 1996 at the M.I. Hummel Club Convention in Coburg, Germany for those members attending. It was then first released in the U.S. market in 1997. This Exclusive Edition represents the 125th anniversary of Goebel (1871-1996). It is part of the "Personal Touch" program; two initials or numbers can be permanently applied by a Goebel artist for a personalization fee of $20. This Exclusive Edition demonstrates what the artists can do and displays the "125" on the flower bouquet, "1871 • W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik • 1996" on the front edge of base with the special "125" wreath and also has a special Exclusive Edition Gold sticker on the bottom. Even the box has a Special Edition stamp, as well as a special Goebel "C31917" stock numbered sticker and "Quality Assurance Inspection" sticker. The original issue price was $180 in 1997. • Has Newer Goebel "👑" Crown Trademark (TMK-7) stamped in Blue on underside of base.
• Special stamp "125", with wreath underneath, in blue on front side of base. (Signifies the 125th anniversary, 1871-1996.)
• Special stamp "1871 • W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik • 1996" in Blue on front side of the base. (Signifies the 125th Anniversary event.)
• Special "125" stamp on the center card display on bouquet of flowers signifying the anniversary. (See pictures)
• Incised Hummel Number "539", Factory Control Number "43" and "1988" copyright date on underside of base. Incised "M.I. Hummel" on rear top side of base.
• Hummel exceeds the height of the catalog's 4.5" by an eighth of an inch, standing at about 4.625" high.
• Figurine has factory applied "Eine gute Nachricht Good News" name sticker on rear side of base.
• Master Painter Hand-signed signature/initials and year, "96", in black on underside of base.
• Has special "1996 Exclusive Edition 1871-1996 125 W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik" in gold numerals/text on special round sticker on bottom of base.
• Comes with M.I. Hummel Club Pamphlet with Enrollment Form inside, Goebel Survey Card and Specailized Certificate of Authenticity card, along with original box with foam inserts.
• Original box has a "Sonderausgabe Special Edition" stamp and a Goebel "C31917" stock numbered sticker. It also has a special "OPENED FOR Quality Assurance Inspection" yellow and red sticker on the bottom, which is stamped "949" by Goebel. Box is in really good condition!

My mother was the President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Hummel Club during the 1980s through the 2000s and collected Hummel figurines for approximately 50 years.
