Item Description:

BLACK HOLE METAL LUNCHBOX AND PLASTIC THERMOS from Aladdin Industries 1979.  This embossed lunchkit features scenes and characters from the full-length American science-fiction film directed by Gary Nelson and produced by Walt Disney Productions.  The voices of the main robot characters were provided by Roddy McDowell and Slim Pickens.  It was both the most expensive film ever produced by Disney and the first to receive a “PG” rating.  A must-have for the Disney and sci-fi movie collector!

Movie Storyline:  In the future, a spaceship dubbed the USS Palomino is on its way back to Earth when it discovers another ship that had been assumed missing, the USS Cygnus. Kate McCrae (Yvette Mimieux), a scientist aboard the Palomino, learns that it's the same ship upon which her father had served as a crew member. When the Palomino's crew boards the Cygnus, they are met by Dr. Reindhardt (Maximilian Schell) and a bizarre, faceless army who plan to be the first people ever to explore a black hole.

 

Condition:  Box and thermos are complete and correct (including the original wire thermos holder).  Front and rear panel graphics are clean and glossy with no blemishes to the raised panels so typical with these vintage embossed boxes on the front and rear main panels.  A few very light scratches and rubbings.  Rim panels are also clean and glossy throughout.  Very light rim wear - with the tiniest of dimples in the bottom right corner of back.  Metal hardware is nice and shiny.  Inside is also very clean clean - and free of any previous owner markings.  In overall  Excellent plus C-8.5 condition.  Thermos graphics are clean throughout with minor rubbings – also in overall Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition.
