In spring 1964, the New York-based Beatles merchandising agency Seltaeb Inc, acting as sub-licencees of the Beatles management company NEMS Enterprises Ltd, authorised the Peerless Manufacturing company to produce this colouring book for kids for the US market. It was distributed by the Saaalfield Publishing company, whose name appears on the cover, and was in shops in time for the Beatles' first US tour proper, which took place in autumn of that year.

The colouring outlines were drawn by Nan Pollard. Most should look familiar, as they were based on photos supplied by Seltaeb, including many supplied to the agency by NEMS.

There are also several pages of photographs of the Beatles (for examples see pics 10 and 11) plus - for some inexplicable reason - a photo of one of the rarest pieces of 1964 Beatles merchandise, the Loot Tray (pic 12).

The coloring book is listed and photographed as item no 94 in the 3rd edition of The Beatles Memorabilia Guide
by Jeff Augsburger, Marty Eck and Rick Rann.

Condition: A couple of small splits/bumps to the top and bottom of the cover spine. The first two pages have come loose, and the first page has been neatly glued to the second page by the original owner. See pic 2. The second page was originally sellotaped back to the main body of the book, but the sellotape has now been removed and replaced with pH neutral document repair tape which will not brown or stain with age. See pic 3. Approx a quarter of the pages have been coloured in... but at least it was by someone who kept within the lines...

International postage quoted is for USA & Australia. For Europe it would be £13. Other territories also differ. Either ask for a revised invoice if you win or pay the full amount and I'll refund any significant overpayment when I mail the item. If I occasionally forget... remind me!

Please see my other items. I try to list items of Beatles memorabilia / merchandise every week or two, so if you're a collector, why not add me to your saved sellers list?

I will combine postage where possible.
