Up for auction is a rare vintage Super Sonic SR-649 Jetliner friction/battery tin toy by Tomiyama Japan in the 1960s Exclusively for Sears Roebuck and Co and The Robert Simpson Co. The toy is in fantastic condition with minimal scratches or corrosion. has a couple of small bends in the wings that can be repaired. missing 1 cockpit cover. Has the moving staircase in excellent condition.

The battery compartment is very clean. Tried to test it with a D battery and I was unable to get it to power up. I know sometimes these old electric motors take some more juice to get them working again. It could be a bad connection on the positive end as the tab is a little bent. The latch that attaches the wings on does operate. I believe it will only take a little work by someone use to repairing these old toys to get it going again.
