Awelye - Women's Ceremony 30cm x 30 cm acrylic on canvas.

This beautiful painting with vibrant strokes of colour is a depiction of Awelye the Womens Ceremony for Atnwelarre (Pencil Yam) and Anwekety (Conkerberry) by talented artist Josie Kunoth Petyarre ( also spelt Pitjara).

Born in 1959, Josie was involved in the Batik movement of the 1980's that led to the establishment of the women artists of Utopia.

Her mother is the renowned artist Polly Ngale and Josie is married to Dinny Kunoth Kemarre.

Painting comes with a Gallery Stamp on reverse from Mbantua Gallery and an artists profile of Josie from the gallery as shown in photographs above. 

The painting is signed on reverse by the artist. 

The painting will be sent carefully rolled in a tube with tracking via Australia Post.
