ESTATE SALE

My mother-in-law recently passed and we're finally going through the items that she collected while she worked in the entertainment industry.

She worked at the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Hollywood, California in the mid-1990s and then moved on to other companies in the biz.

Over the years, she obtained an extensive collection of rare Hollywood items, especially from her favorite franchise "Star Trek".  Scripts, crew gifts, screen used props and much, much more.

Our loss is your gain.  Please bid high and we thank you for your support!!

This item up for bids would make a great addition to any Star Trek fan’s collection.

"WRITER'S/DIRECTOR'S GUIDE"

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION

SEASON ONE

From the writer's offices of Star Trek - The Next Generation in the Hart building on the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Hollywood.

The booklet is 48 pages in length.

(53 physical pages.)

Written on March 23, 1987

This information booklet was created for writers and directors of the new series "Star Trek: The Next Generation".  It had been 18 years since a version of Star Trek had been on television and this one was going to be set some 78 years after the events in "Star Trek: The Original Series".  New characters, a new setting, and an entirely new U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D.  This book gives an over view of what the series creators had in mind.  It includes character descriptions for all of the major characters.  It gives a brief explanation of the relationships that they have with one another.  It gives some details as to the new technology of the 24th century.  What can the phasers now do?  What does the new communicator look like?  New areas of the ship like the holodecks.

What is especially interesting about a book like this is seeing what changed over the course of the seven years that the show was on the air.  What story possibilities were fleshed out?  Which ones were dropped?  (Did you know that the original intent for the character of Geordi LaForge was to have him be a teacher on the ship?  This later changed significantly when he became chief engineer.)  Get a unique look at the beginnings of what became the hit show that we know and love.

Own a particularly fantastic part of Hollywood and Star Trek history!
